Environmental Organizations with Toxics Programs

Greenpeace Toxics Campaign
The Greenpeace Toxics Campaign focuses on an end to the manufacture, use and disposal of hazardous, synthetic substances - particularly persistent organic pollutants (POP’s) - on a global scale. Greenpeace also seeks an end to the migration of dirty technologies to regions of the world least equipped to deal with inevitable, industrial disasters. Their activists raise public awareness about the dangers of industrial pollution, and encourage governments and industries to convert to clean modes of production. Their website has excellent information on a number of issues related to toxics as a global threat to human health and the environment.

Worldwide Wildlife Toxics Program
Recognizing the far-reaching effects of pollution to wildlife throughout the world, WWF continues to investigate toxic chemicals and their relationship to biodiversity, seek alternatives to harmful synthetic agents, and educate the public and policymakers to the dangers of toxics.

Physicians for Social Responsibility

This group has recently launched an education and action center for health professionals and others interested in environmental health and toxics. In addition to being able to view lots of information and download publications such as “Environmental Endocrine Disruptors: What Health Care Providers Should Know,” the website also includes an Action Center through which people can send e-mails to Congress.
